Welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse

Today marks Chinese New Year — and 2026 ushers in something truly special: the Year of the Fire Horse. This rare and powerful combination only comes around once every 60 years, and we could not think of a more fitting energy to carry Navigate Bali into this next chapter.
The Horse is bold. The Horse is free. The Horse charges forward with energy, purpose, and an unshakeable sense of direction. Add fire to that — passion, dynamism, and the courage to innovate — and you have exactly the spirit we are stepping into this year. For those of you who know me well, this feels particularly personal. I have always had a deep love of horses — there is something about their spirit, their freedom, and their power that speaks to my soul. So when the Year of the Fire Horse arrives galloping in, I cannot help but feel this one is mine. And sorry not sorry for all the pony pictures!
Where We Are Going
Navigate Bali has always been built on a simple but powerful belief: that finding property shouldn't be so hard. Whether you are searching for a long-term rental, a family home, a retreat centre, an investment property, or regenerative land, you deserve honest guidance — not sales pressure.
This year, we are deepening that commitment. We are growing our curated portfolio of sustainable properties across Bali, expanding our team, and strengthening the systems that allow us to serve you better. We are building something that lasts — not just for our business, but for this island.
Property with purpose. That is not just our tagline. It is our direction.
A Note on Our Platform
We have a lot of exciting technology upgrades happening across our platform this year. We will be honest with you — we keep wanting everything to be perfect before we launch, but the truth is, it never will be. So we have decided to stop waiting and just keep moving forward, learning as we go.
If you notice any changes, glitches, or anything that feels a little different, please bear with us. And if you have any feedback — on our platform, our service, or any aspect of our business — our door is always open. We genuinely want to hear from you. It is how we learn and how we grow.
We'd love to hear from you — drop us a message on WhatsApp or email anytime hello@navigate-bali.com
Educating for a More Sustainable Bali

One of the things that drives us most at Navigate Bali is education. Bali is facing real environmental pressures — plastic pollution, deforestation, water scarcity, and rapid overdevelopment. As a community of homeowners, tenants, villa owners, and investors, we all have a role to play.
In the coming months, we will be launching a series of short, practical videos sharing simple tips and tricks to make your home more sustainable — whether you are renting, owning, or managing a villa. Small changes, made by enough people, create real impact.
To get you started, here are our 7 Top Tips for a More Sustainable Home in Bali:
Recycle properly — separate organic, plastic, paper, and glass. See below to contact us for a list of recycling companies.
Install a Terra water filter — ditch the single-use plastic gallons and get clean, safe drinking water straight from your tap.
Switch to refillable cleaning products — refill stations are widely available across Canggu, Ubud, and Seminyak. A simple swap that cuts plastic waste dramatically.
Compost your food waste — even a small bin transforms kitchen scraps into rich garden soil. Perfect for villa gardens and easy to set up.
Use natural pest control — citronella, neem oil, and lemongrass are highly effective, kind to Bali's ecosystem, and widely available locally.
Buy locally made products — from furniture to food, buying local reduces your carbon footprint and supports Balinese artisans and farmers.
Reduce air conditioning use — open your home to natural ventilation, use fans and blackout curtains, and work with the breeze. Traditional Balinese architecture understood this perfectly.
For recycling, composting, and waste contacts email us hello@navigate-bali.com we’ll send it directly to you.

Protecting the Land We Love

We are finding ways to support Indonesian environmental alliances. We are starting with four organisations I feel
personally aligned with: Restore the Legacy, Astungkara Way, Sungai Watch, and TerraWater — because we believe that doing business on this island comes with a responsibility to protect it.
We would love for our clients to join us. Whether it is a small monthly contribution to a land protection fund, a one-off donation to a reforestation project, or simply choosing to support one of the local environmental partners we recommend — every single contribution matters.
If you would like to know more about these organisations or how you can get involved, you can visit our website or reach out directly to us - we are looking for co-sponsors for events and exploring other ways we can make valuable connections.
Here's to the Year of the Fire Horse
Bold. Free. Moving forward with purpose.

Thank you for being part of the Navigate Bali community. Whether you found us last week or have been with us since the beginning — we are genuinely grateful. This island is extraordinary, and so are the people who choose to make it home.
Here is to a year of clarity, courage, and conscious choices.
With love from Bali,
Miki & the Navigate Bali Team
